Do you know your browser allows you to use a private window? I’ve seen them and didn’t know what value they were until recently. When I’m researching a topic, they stop invasive cookies from picking up on my interests and starting to serve me up ads for things I really don’t want.

This screenshot is from Firefox. In Chrome the feature is called “Incognito Window”.

Using this feature is really a benefit for when I’m researching on sites like Amazon. I don’t start receiving quirky book suggestions from them later. Any plugins I use to aid my research can also be allowed to work in the private windows. Check them out, you might enjoy the peace and quiet later.
