The Daily Echoes Uses AI to Explore Life, One Word at A Time
Words are the foundation of all communication. Without them, we’d be limited to sign language and cave art to express ourselves. Yet how often do we truly examine a word beyond its surface meaning? How frequently do we dive deeper than just understanding its context in a sentence?
Since June 14, 2023, I’ve been on a fascinating journey exploring words through what I call the Daily Echoes project.
As of today, I’ve published over 500 Daily Echoes, each one a unique blend of word exploration, visual art, and personal reflection.
The Genesis
It all started with “Catalyst” — fitting, considering how this project would evolve. For years, I’d been running an email list called Prompt A Day, sending daily prompts to creators, including a single word prompt.
When I began learning Midjourney, a generative art engine, I decided to experiment with these single-word prompts.
The initial results were… underwhelming. A single word didn’t generate particularly interesting images. I needed more.
