Bloom In Adversity
“The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.” — Walt Disney
Something I enjoy doing with Midjourney is having it generate an image from a quote to see how it interprets the words. The above quote was sent out from Prompt A Day. The word of the day was ‘bloom’ as well. I was mulling over the word of the day while playing with the quote in Midjourney. And then I spotted the image now in the header of this post.

One of the few things I remembered about those first few days after my husband died was me standing beside his grave as a lone piper played “Amazing Grace”. It was the one request he had made before he died. The main reason that memory comes back to me is the lady who came up to me after the service and said “you’re so brave”. I remember looking at this stranger and thinking, “you need to be on the inside lady”.
I took from her remark she saw me as ‘blooming’ in the adversity of grief. To the outside world I’m not a person who shows much of what is going on inside. It’s part of how I get through what I need to get through. Grieving his loss was indeed something that had to be gotten through. It was still new and raw that day. It would be for months to come.
